F5 breach, source code leak, and emergency order

A serious breach at F5 (maker of BIG-IP and related network/security products) has been attributed to a nation-state actor. Attackers allegedly accessed internal systems for some time and exfiltrated source code and vulnerability data.

In response, the U.S. CISA (Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency) has issued an emergency directive (ED-26-01), mandating that federal agencies patch and mitigate F5 device vulnerabilities by October 22, 2025, and report inventories by October 29.

Microsoft’s Largest Patch Tuesday — 167 CVEs

The October 2025 update addresses 167 vulnerabilities (the largest in Microsoft’s history), including several zero-days that were already being exploited in the wild. The scale underscores the ongoing reality: even major vendors remain regularly exposed, and patch management is increasingly critical.



A deserialization vulnerability in SAP NetWeaver’s Java component (RMI-P4 module) allows unauthenticated command execution — a high-severity issue.SAP has released patches, and additional hardening measures are being rolled out.

Computer science has been one of the most popular college majors in recent years. Many students choose it believing it offers strong job prospects and high salaries. However, recent data reveals a different story in the United States: many graduates are struggling to find jobs in the field.
