Wipro to Acquire Harman’s Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) Unit
Indian tech major Wipro has announced plans to acquire Harman Connected Services' DTS business—part of Samsung—for $375 million. The acquisition will integrate over 5,600 employees across 14 countries into Wipro’s global engineering team, significantly enhancing its AI-driven engineering and R&D capabilities across sectors like aerospace, healthcare, and consumer goods. The deal is expected to finalize by year-end, pending regulatory approvals.
Engineering institutions in coastal regions like Mangaluru—particularly MITE in Moodbidri and VCET in Puttur—are prioritizing soft skills development alongside technical instruction. This includes training in communication, aptitude, and interview readiness, and has led to dramatic improvements in placement rates, with VCET seeing an increase from 50% to 85%.
IIT Guwahati, host of GATE 2026, has published an official list of allowed two-paper subject combinations, providing candidates with more flexibility in exam planning. A brand-new subject paper has also been introduced, alongside clear guidelines for registration under the two-paper format.
