In a significant move towards enhancing digital payment security, India has introduced biometric authentication for Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions. This system utilizes facial recognition and fingerprint scanning, leveraging data from the Aadhaar system, to authenticate payments, aiming to reduce fraud and improve user convenience

In the United States, California has enacted new data privacy legislation, including Assembly Bill 656, which mandates social media platforms to provide clear and straightforward processes for account deletion. This law ensures that when users delete their accounts, all associated personal data is also removed, enhancing user control over their information

Additionally, California has introduced a law requiring web browsers to support universal opt-out preference signals. This legislation enables consumers to prevent third parties from selling their data, providing a more streamlined and effective means of protecting personal information online

Global Perspectives on Data Privacy

Internationally, Germany has taken a firm stance against the European Union's proposed "Chat Control" regulation, which aimed to mandate the scanning of private messages for child sexual abuse material. Germany's refusal to support this regulation underscores the ongoing debate between privacy rights and the need to combat online exploitation

Computer science has been one of the most popular college majors in recent years. Many students choose it believing it offers strong job prospects and high salaries. However, recent data reveals a different story in the United States: many graduates are struggling to find jobs in the field.
